The most beautiful musical on the West End

Saw Once at the Harris Theater in Filsom on October 28, 2016. Absolutely amazing!! Want to see it again!

Went to see Once yesterday..was fantastic and funny. Ronan was fantastic both acting and singing. I absolutely love his voice and have been a massive fan for 21 years of both Boyzone and Ronan. Every song he sang gave me goosebumps. Was a nice treat to see him in his undies and red socks.

I was bought a ticket for xmas by my daughter. Ronan Keating and the rest of the cast are just fantastic. The acting and the music really pulls you in. I loved it so much i want to go and see it again. Definatley a must see for all.

Ronan is just made for the role of Guy, I have no idea why he wasn't cast in this show sooner! He brings a depth to the role because nothing is forced. I think having a real Irishman in the production makes all the difference and boy can he sing! Falling Slowly was especially moving. What a wonderful evening!

Went to see the show on Tuesday. I have listened to the soundtrack so many times I was worried if Ronan was going to do it justice. However I need not have worried! Ronan surpassed himself and really brought "Guy" to life. His voice shone on all of the songs and it was so lovely to have a real Irishman playing to lead at long last! All of the cast were outstanding musicians, it was a superb night out. Can't wait to go again "Once" is not enough!

Just wanted to say, after seeing yesterdays performance of 'Once' it made our day, our month, our year as each year we travel to see a show arranged by our Pilates teacher Nicky, there were about 25 of us we all thoroughly enjoyed this show, especially after the amazing Ronan Keating came & did his first show at the matinee yesterday, it was the best surprise ever, along with the fabulous other members of the cast, it was a heart-warming, tear jerking performance by them all, very talented passionate & dedicated team worked superb together in making this story come to life, before our eyes, wishing Ronan & the rest of the wonderful cast a successful next few months through to March 2015, hope the show continues on for longer. Visited London on Saturday, went to the TKTS booth and by pot luck chose a ticket to Once. I didn't know anything about it but it was amazing. Agree with previous comments regarding the talent of the cast, storyline etc. Only downside is the sound of underground trains every so often. Thanks for an entertaining afternoon. Great show.

A Wonderful performance last week. I love the film too and am always haunted by falling slowly. I wasn't sure how a theatre production would work but the staging and cast were excellent. Great craic all the way through.

When I sat down to watch a musical love story I wasn't expecting much. In fact, I thought I would leave in the interval. How wrong I was! Once had me interested by the end of the first song and hooked by the time the hoover was brought onto the stage (5 minutes into the show). Every member of the cast was excellent. The singing sublime and a good balance of laughs. As I left the theatre I wanted to buy the CD! A standing ovation is rare. A standing ovation 14 months into a run is even rarer. Well deserved.

I wasn't too inspired to see Once until it was recommended to me by a friend, and it really was wonderful. It was lovely to see a relatively new musical with a plot I knew nothing about and with songs that I didn't recognise. I can't stop listening to the soundtrack now! The cast play the most beautiful music, a lot of fiddles, cellos and strings, and their voices are just gorgeous. They all blend together so well. The story is moving without being pretentious or over dramatic, and I really fell for the characters. It's set in an Irish pub and you can go up on stage and get a drink in the interval which was a really nice touch, it made the experience very memorable.

Yesterday one of the best and most complete theatre experiences of a very long life. "Once"; wonderful in every aspect and from the first moment of entering the theatre to...well now, as I sit compelled to record my appreciation. Actors, of course, brilliant but writing, movement, lighting, settings, sound, direction and magic all so considered and executed faultlessly. Accosted as we rose to leave by a total stranger, with his wife, who also needed some one person that he could envelop in his enthusiasm for the experience that all in the theatre had been part of, had wondered at, had shared in, the laughter and the tears and now, until next time, the memories. To every single person involved in this incredible production,  thank you. We'll be back.

An excellent production. The music and the story were blended seamlessly together by a very talented cast. Despite a simple story it was rich in both funny, sad and heart-warming moments. A truly uplifting performance totally deserving of the standing ovation it received!

I saw Once a few weeks ago at the Phoenix and can only agree with the other reviewer. I had never heard of the film, but enjoyed the great music and overall smooth production/ values of this performance. The set was terrific, the acting very believable and engaging, and the music just great. I also loved the pre-performance "singalong" and the way it just melted into performance: I admired the cast's versatility (singing, dancing, playing various instruments, right enough) and their ability to make acting look like "not-acting' - as in the multi-purpose pre-show performance: which served as audience sing-along, mood-setter and "establishment shot" for the start of the play proper, which then flowed naturally into action as the audience members left the stage, drinks in hand.....

I saw Once at the Phoenix two weeks ago and absolutely fell in love with it. I had seen trailers for the movie and watched clips of the Broadway production (doesn't even compare to the West End production), so I had a bit of an idea of what I would be seeing. I knew Once would be good, but I was not expecting to be blown away by it. The cast was INCREDIBLY talented and seemed to have an intense bond. You could tell the entire cast was having a lot of fun. My favorite cast member was Declan Bennett, who played "Guy". His voice was AMAZING and his acting spot-on. Every song was great. I especially loved "Leave", "Gold", and "Falling Slowly". If you are in London, see "Once"!

Fabulous show last night. Really enjoyed it all and would love to see it again. Relaxed and intimate atmosphere, now I need the cd!

The show was like an emotional p*** up in a Dublin pub! Wonderfully sung folk songs, great accents, great story. Loved the onstage bar in the interval too 😉

I came all the way from Croatia to see this show as it has our national treasure, Zrinka Civitesic in the show. She was wonderful, beautiful voice and lovely hair! She did our nation proud! The guy also had a gorgeous voice and they sang together like angels! The onstage musicians were so talented and I very much enjoyed the set. Beautiful show!

You really must go and see this show. It is not like any other musical and has such wide appeal. Subtle, yet brimming with passion and energy. Every song, every tune touches the audience. wonderful dynamics, humour and pathos. Music heals!

Once is a whole new type of musical! It's like a gig and a musical at the same time and it works really well. Once has excellent music and all the cast onstage play their instruments so well! Great music combined with a great story = a great show. Well worth it!

Thoroughly enjoyed the 1st preview performance of Once at the Phoenix. Not having seen the film, this musical is brilliantly different. There's no orchestra pit, the talented cast act, sing and play various instruments themselves. Even before the start, the infectious Irish folk music was in full flow with audience members at the bar ON STAGE! There's humour throughout, a touching storyline and beautiful songs that include the superbly performed "Falling Slowly" and "Gold." Brilliant! The Standing O went on and on!
