Once
Once is 8 time Tony Award winning Irish musical that took Broadway by storm in 2012. Now on the West End stage, Once brings it's Dublin charm to the Phoenix Theatre. Adapted by Enda Walsh from the 2006 film of the same name, Once is the story of a down trodden Dublin busker who finds himself fixing a beautiful Czech woman's broken hoover who pays him for his services in music. The action in Once takes place over one week during which time feelings blossom and dreams are made for a lucky few, whilst others suffer aching hearts and broken dreams. Once's critically acclaimed film soundtrack, written by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, makes up the majority of the musical's score, including the Academy Award winning "Falling Slowly." Musicians perform live onstage in this heart rendering and visually moving piece of theatre.
